Great Indian Wildlife Expedition - 2026

I am excited to announce my 2026 Photo Wildlife Expedition after having developed a deep passion for India’s extraordinary wildlife during my last expedition to India during February 2025.
This journey is designed around the prime birding season in the Himalayas, where the March bloom of Rhododendron forests attracts a remarkable diversity of birdlife - an ideal environment for immersive field photography.
Following the Himalayan segment, we will travel to Panna Tiger Reserve, where we will undertake dedicated safaris in search of tigers and other iconic species of the Central Indian landscape.
This expedition combines high-altitude birding, rich forest habitats, and world-class big-mammal encounters - crafted for photographers and naturalists seeking exceptional wildlife opportunities in a single, thoughtfully curated journey.
Here is the planned itinerary from March 1 to 13 which starts in Mumbai (BOM) and ends at New Delhi (DEL) -

Accommodation
For the first half of the trip we would be staying in homestays as these are the only available option in the region. Homestays are more or less like small hotels that are run by a local family. You will get a private room with an attached bathroom. But given the remote location you should not expect all hotel like luxuries at these places. You will get all basic amenities. But I promise you that the nature and views from the mountains will more than make up for the lack of luxury. The second half of the trip (tiger safaris) will have you hosted in proper hotels.
